Dogstar has performed many dog walks on Sullivan’s Islands since our inception. There are specific rules regarding dogs on the beach, which vary between the summer and winter seasons:
General Requirements
- Permits: All dogs, whether resident or visitor, must have a valid Sullivan’s Island permit, which can be obtained from Town Hall. The cost is $35 for visitors and $25 for residents. You will need to provide proof of rabies vaccination and insurance coverage for dog bites (Sullivan’s Island Official Website) (Sullivan’s Island Property).
- Leash and Cleanup: Dogs must be leashed when required and all pet waste must be picked up and disposed of properly. Waste bags are available at the entrance of each beach access path (Sullivan’s Island Official Website) (Mount Pleasant Pets).
Summer Hours (May 1 – September 30)
- Off-leash: 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- No Dogs: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- On-leash: 6:00 PM – 5:00 AM (Sullivan’s Island Official Website) (Sullivan’s Island Property).
Winter Hours (October 1 – April 30)
