About Us

Dogstar was founded in 2009 by two brothers Brett and Nick Eppehimer and their program director is the retired sprinter Rudy the whippet. The brothers set out with the goal of providing attentive in-home pet care to pets of Charleston & Mt. Pleasant with an emphasis on exercise and pet wellness.

Brett Eppehimer graduated from Lehigh University before embarking on an 8 year professional basketball career in Europe. Nick Eppehimer graduated from Marist College before heading off for a 6 year professional basketball career in Europe. Both have subsequently traded in their basketball sneakers for running sneakers in order to pursue another of their passions—providing top quality pet care for Charleston area residents and their pets.

Our Policies

Initial Consultation

We offer a free consultation with all potential clients before beginning service. This meeting gives us an opportunity to meet both you and your pets and discuss your pet’s needs. During the consultation we try to obtain as much information as possible on your dog or cat, including their health history and current activity level. We will also need to know where you keep pet supplies, food, and treats. Lastly, we ask that you fill out our client registration and sign our service agreement contained within the scheduling software before beginning service.
